Back Into the Rhythm of Better Eating

Remember you want to do something that you can stick to….

One thing most of us have been through during our weight loss journey or health and fitness journey is getting off track with our nutrition. Now this might be due to being sick or life smacking us in the face with uncontrollable events. Then we face the challenging part of struggling to get back into it.

Firstly this is why they call it a weight loss or health and fitness journey because we have highs and low doing this. Trust me I know as from someone who lost nearly 30kg before becoming a wellness coach 18 years ago. Now If are face with a time where you are struggling firstly to start the beginning of getting back in a rhythm is mindset. Mindset is so powerful when it comes to this because we can talk ourselves in and out of this so fast. So firstly tell yourself I am ready to restart. Once you have done this then second thing is to keep yourself accountable. This can be done in different ways. Some ways are let someone around you know what you are looking to achieve, close friend, family member or your partner. Someone who is going to firstly support you and keep you on track. Social media is another great way. Tips on both of this I explained on a previous video called “Sharing your Journey” so I highly recommend watching this for more tips and insights.

Secondly if you have been doing something before that was working then do it. You have something to go back to which is great. The advice I can give with this is that when you do restart this is ask yourself can I substance this for the rest of my life. If the answer is YES then restart it, if the answer is NO then start looking at something that you care begin  but more importantly continue. Remember you want to do something that you can stick to and not get caught up in a yo yo diet.

When I first take a client on board we go through a body and goal setting assessment. To me this is the most important session as I know what the client wants to achieve short and long term. Now when it comes to weight loss, losing weight is not the most challenging part but keeping it off. Now there are so many ways to lose weight today, it’s a billion dollar industry. You can it do with shakes like, man shake, lady shake, isogentics, sure slim or Herbalife, then you have you meals like light and easy, Jenny Craig, wait weights. The list goes on. I have NOTHING against these products but the ONE question you have to ask yourself. Can I substance this for the REST of my LIFE. I will repeat that for the REST of you life. I am not taking about a short term goal like wedding, family reunion or gathering, school reunion. But If the answer is YES then begin as you have now found something that works. But if it is a maybe or no then try something else. I love to give my clients options when it comes to this and work with them to find what works for them. You could google a 1200, 1500 or 1800 meal but if you can’t stick to it it means nothing.

I’m  not saying you have to eat lettuces leave for the rest of your life. We are designed as human being to FEAST and to FAST. But unfortunately we need to for the balance and FAST more than we FEAST. If you want more tips and insight on this also watch another one of my videos call “FEASTING LONGER THAN FASTING” (https://youtu.be/rM9llXytfZY)

When you do find something that is life sustainable then firstly you will stick with it and have a lessor change of getting out of rhythm to restart again. Even if you temporary do get out of rhythm that is ok but use it a feedback and next time you will have a plan in place. So how do  you get back into a RHYTM? reassess what you have done before you lost it and then before you begin ask yourself can I substance this when I restart. If the ask is YES then begin but if the answer is NO then reach out to me and together we can work on a plan for you. Because when someone comes to me to help them they are mental ready to do so which is so powerful.
